Reportedly, Mr. Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as M.C. Oluomo, prevented Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC) accredited vehicles from leaving Council offices with election materials, causing commotion in three Local Government Areas in Lagos State: Ojo, Apapa, and Mushin. This action occurred despite the memorandum of understanding signed a few weeks earlier between INEC and the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) regarding logistics for the movement of election materials. NARTO drivers reported harassment and threats from members of the Lagos State Park and Garage Management Committee, and despite police presence, the committee continued to stop drivers from transporting materials. The Lagos State Chapter Chairman of NARTO, Alhaji Kayode Odunowo, reported the incident to NARTO’s executive members, waiting for their instructions before taking action. The Lagos State NARTO Task Force Chairman, Comrade Ridwan Bello, claimed that M.C. Oluomo’s boys were sabotaging the logistics process, which could truncate the entire election process in Lagos State if urgent steps were not taken. Efforts to contact Jimoh Buhari, Oluomo’s spokesman, were unsuccessful. However, a close associate of Oluomo stated that he was unsure if Oluomo would make any threat that could undermine Tinubu’s chances of winning the presidential election. Lagos Resident Electoral Commissioner, Olusegun Agbaje, stated that the election under his watch was on course and not every issue required his reaction.
