Report on Medical Outreach held at Ogbogologo market, Asaba, Delta State on the 16th of September, 2022.
The planned free medical outreach was carried out Ogbogologo market after due permission was obtained from the authorities of the market officials we made contact with and where the market chairman and his deputy were.
The free medical outreach started at exactly 9:30am, both the market traders, as well as buyers that came to the market, were attended to.
The members of the medical team were 4 medical doctors, 2 nurses, 1 pharmacist and 3 other non-medical personnel.
We attended to about 100 people.
However, the medical outreach was stopped after about 2 hours with a claim that the LGA ordered it, which we duly complied with. About an hour after the stoppage we learnt that one of the organizers of the outreach that resides in Asaba had been held hostage by the LGA chairman because we were conducting a political rally, using banners and a media report that he, the LGA chairman had stopped a medical outreach that cost over 10million and he must make a refund. He, therefore, held our man and forced him to make a disclaimer which he did and then released about an hour later.
