LP sweeps Cross River presidential election

According to early results from several polling units in most parts of Cross River State, the Labour Party (LP) appears to be winning the state by a considerable margin. In many of the units declared, LP was leading by a large margin, with the APC closely following in some units. In Yakurr LGA, which is dominantly controlled by APC, LP emerged victorious.

At the Ministry of Agriculture Unit 014 in Ijiman Ugep, LP won the presidential race with 35 votes, followed by APC with 27 votes, and PDP with 12 votes. For the Senate race, APC got 31 votes, PDP got 16 votes, and LP got 26 votes. For the House of Representatives, PDP got 11 votes, APC got 22 votes, and LP got 42 votes.

In Ikom LGA, OFUTOP II ward, Playground Nsimaghe polling unit, LP won by a landslide in the presidential race with 185 votes, followed by APC with 7 votes and PDP with 2 votes. In the senatorial race, LP got 131 votes, followed by PDP with 59 votes and APC with 21 votes. For the House of Representatives, LP got 131 votes, followed by PDP with 50 votes and APC with 26 votes.

At Old Etomi road in Yakurr LGA, LP won the presidential race with 172 votes, followed by APC with 7 votes and PDP with 11 votes. In the senatorial race, LP got 85 votes, PDP got 79 votes, and APC got 15 votes. For the House of Representatives, LP got 87 votes, PDP got 73 votes, and APC got 19 votes.

In Ward 12, Unit 023, on Orok Orok Street in Calabar South, LP won the presidential race with 160 votes, followed by APC with 26 votes and PDP with 8 votes. In the senatorial race, LP got 95 votes, APC got 49 votes, and PDP got 33 votes. For the House of Representatives, LP got 93 votes, APC got 57 votes, and PDP got 32 votes.

In Ward 8, Unit 025 in Calabar Municipality, LP got 54 votes in the senatorial race, followed by PDP with 57 votes and APC with 33 votes. For the House of Representatives, LP got 52 votes, followed by PDP with 57 votes and APC with 33 votes. In the presidential race, LP got 108 votes, followed by APC with 15 votes and PDP with 11 votes.

At PU: 041 Uwanse by Ibonda in Calabar South, LP won the House of Representatives race with 79 votes, followed by PDP with 62 votes and APC with 59 votes. In the senatorial race, LP got 79 votes, followed by PDP with 55 votes and APC with 64 votes. For the presidential race, LP got 138 votes, followed by APC with 33 votes and PDP with 17 votes.

In Yahe Ward PU 008 by Play Ground in Ogoja, LP won the presidential race with 72 votes, followed by APC with 18 votes and PDP with 9 votes. For the senatorial race, APC got 60 votes, PDP got 43 votes, and LP got an unspecified number of votes. In the House of Representatives race, APC got 65 votes, PDP got 38 votes, and LP got an unspecified number of votes.

At Ward 9, Unit 10, Njankada, Calabar South LGA:

Presidential APC: 25 PDP: 8 LP: 172

Senate APC: 27 PDP: 13 LP: 163

Overall, the results from several polling units in most parts of Cross River State indicate that the Labour Party (LP) is leading in the state by a significant margin. In some units, the All Progressives Congress (APC) closely followed the LP, while in others, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was a distant third. For instance, in Yakurr LGA, which is dominantly controlled by the APC, the LP won. The LP also won in several other LGAs, such as Calabar South, Calabar Municipal, and Ogoja.
