Labour Party Vice Presidential Candidate in the February 25 elections, Yusuf Datti Baba Ahmed has alleged that the INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu has put the lives of every Nigerian in danger following his issuance of the certificate of return to Bola Tinubu as the president-elect of the 2023 presidential poll.
Yusuf Datti who spoke in an interview with Channels Television alleged that we all are now at risks because if Bola Tinubu is swore in as the president in May, despite not meeting the constitutional requirements of the constitution, then that would be the end to democracy.
Datti further warned President Muhammadu Buhari and the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola from swearing in Bola Tinubu even though INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu has put us in danger the moment he issued the certificate of return to Tinubu and put us all in risks.
He said, “Yakubu has put us in danger after he issued certificate to Tinubu, we are now at risks. All of us are already at risks, so what is there in me taking risks again? What have they not done against Nigeria? Now they will take the constitution where it is clear that you should get 24 after that and FCT, but they failed to get it and there are going to swear this man in and I should be afraid? I am telling you that I will not be afraid. Mr President, do not hold that inauguration, CJN your lordship, do not partake in unconstitutionality. I am taking this risk for the sake of my country, yes it is extreme and I am saying it”.
